Morrison keen to get recovery right for Huddersfield

Defender looks on to weekend’s fixture

23 August 2019

The games continue to come thick and fast in August. Our visit to Huddersfield on Saturday will be the sixth of eight games in the first month of the season.

Centre-half Michael Morrison knows the importance of recovering the body for the next challenge in such a congested schedule, in particular while players are at different stages of match-fitness.

And as ever, the aim will be to continue the performance levels to try and get the win.

“I think the recovery needs to be right ahead of Huddersfield,” he explained.

“A lot of people have come in late and not had the pre-season together that we wanted. It’s the nature of the league and we’ll be ready to go.

“We’ve got some top talent and we’ll going there hoping to get the three points.

“We are definitely taking step forward. If you asked us at the beginning of the week we definitely would have taken these results. You can see the belief growing in the team, and hopefully we get the win at the weekend to carry us up the league.”

A total of 893 fans were there in support of Reading at the Hawthorns, and another good number are heading up to Huddersfield too.

“For a midweek game, it was a really good effort from them, and we gave them something to cheer about,” continued Morrison.

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t see it out but I think they’ll be happy with how hard we worked.

“The lads are clearly pleased with the following – if you can connect with the fans it just brings everyone together. It can make the Madejski very hard to beat.”
