"I'm very happy to sign for this big club, before I signed I talked with the coach and some friends who have played here before. They told me about the club, and I'm very happy to be here."
Those were the first words of on-loan AS Monaco midfielder, Pelé, who penned terms to become a Royal for the season ahead.
The 27-year-old Portuguese playmaker will join up with his new teammates for the first time on Wednesday, as the Royals prepare for their first away day of the season, up at Hull City.
"The manager sent me a message about two weeks ago, he told me he wanted me at the club," Pelé revealed about Reading's approach.
"I am very happy to see the interest from the manager, and that's why I'm here - to try and help the team do well with our objectives.
"I know the manager because before, he was the manager of my team in Portugal, Rio Ave, and I know the style he likes to play. I'm happy to be here because it's my style.
"I like to have the ball, to control the game - this is my style. I will do my best in every game.
"I'm ready. Last year I played for four months at Nottingham Forest and this is a very competitive league, I'm ready to play for Reading and I'm ready to do my best to enjoy the football here.
"It's very good for me because it was my dream to play in England and I already had the opportunity to play at Nottingham Forest. I love this football and that's why I came again to play in this league. I think I will be more happy than last year.
"I will be a full part of the team for one year, I think I will enjoy all the games and the atmosphere in the stadium, every time it's full.
"There's a long way to our objective, so we have to work every day to our maximum. My objective is to play a lot of games, and to try to help the team go where we want to."
