Royals secure retail partnership with John Lewis & Partners Reading

Club joins forces with local retailer to give Royals brand a home at the heart of town centre

20 August 2019

Reading Football Club are delighted to announce John Lewis & Partners Reading as our Exclusive Retail Partner.

Central to this new partnership will be our own dedicated Reading Football Club area within the sports department on the ground floor throughout the course of the season - the department store will be selling Royals replica kit and merchandise from Thursday 29th August.

As a club, we are focussed on growing the connection we have with the town, its businesses and its residents. Community is key to all we do at Reading Football Club. A retail presence in the centre of town gives our brand a home at the core of Reading’s shopping district.

John Lewis & Partners Reading has been an iconic part of our town centre for a long time and the store remains at the very heart of Reading’s shopping hub; it fronts on to Reading's main pedestrianised street, Broad Street, and backs onto Minster Street and The Oracle.

Now, it will be home to a range of Royals merchandise, including home, away and goalkeeper replica kit when the 2019-20 range goes on sale to the public from Thursday 29th August.

Cliff Vanstone, Partner & Head of Branch at John Lewis & Partners Reading said, “We are excited to partner with Reading Football Club to bring Royals replica kit and merchandise into our shop this season. We can’t wait to launch the range of kit with an in-store signing session from 2.30pm on Thursday 29th August, where shoppers will have the chance to meet a number of Royals first team players.”

Club mascots, Kingsley and Queensley, are due to browse the shop floor throughout the 2019-20 season and more player signing sessions will take place in town during the course of the campaign.

We are delighted to welcome John Lewis & Partners Reading to our portfolio of local business connections and look forward to working closely together throughout the 2019-20 season.
