More than eight months after his senior debut for the Royals, centre-back Tom McIntyre will play his first competitive minutes at Madejski Stadium in a Reading shirt.
The lifelong Royals fan comes into the starting line-up for the injured Matt Miazga, as José Gomes makes two changes from the line-up that started against Huddersfield in the league last weekend, and a full 11 changes from the Royals' midweek Carabao Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle.
The other change for Reading is the return to the line-up of George Puşcaş, in place of Lucas Boyé. After impressing in midweek, Gabriel Osho steps up to the bench as centre-back cover, while after a brace apiece in midweek, Yakou Méïté and Josh Barrett are also among the substitutes.
Omar Richards keeps his place at left-back on Saturday afternoon, fresh from an international call-up to represent England's Under-21s this September.
