Royals boss Mark Bowen paid tribute to the travelling band of loyal Royals who braved the elements and the winter's cold to support his team at Oakwell last night. It wasn't the performance, nor the win we all wanted, but our fans' efforts did not go unnoticed.
"Our fans are amazing," he said. "It certainly doesn’t go unnoticed by the players that these supporters travelled all the way up here this evening.
"Most of them will travel all the way back down again tonight and no doubt a majority of them will be back up there in Stoke on Saturday.
"It just fills your heart with pride when you see them up here and all of the lads, including myself, are desperate to give them something to cheer about.
"We’re a team that are on a bit of a rollercoaster – we can’t hide from the fact that in the last couple of games, we’ve been a team struggling to find our form again.
"But we will work hard on the training ground to start playing our way through it and we will start gaining confidence again.
"We want to give these fans a team to be proud of and that means we have to start winning games."
