The only change to the squad sees Garath McCleary replace Danny Loader among the substitutes, with the starting line-up staying on from the Royals' battling win a few days ago.

A back-line of Chris Gunter, Liam Moore, Michael Morrison and Tyler Blackett all start in front of Rafael at Deepdale, with the Royals and that defensive configuration currently on a run of three consecutive slean sheets in the league.

Preston's home form is imperious, though, with just one defeat all season at Deepdale and 30 of their 39 points being won on home turf so far in 2019-20.

Both teams go into Sunday's match on four-game unbeaten runs in the Sky Bet Championship, with Alex Neil's men currently occupying a Play-Off spot.

Preston North End: Rudd, Clarke, Huntington, Davies, Hughes, Pearson, Browne, Harrop, Bodin, Potts, Maguire.
Subs: Ripley, Fisher, Ledson, Gallagher, Stockley, Barkhuizen, Bayliss.

Reading: Rafael, Gunter, Morrison, Moore (c), Blackett, Pelé, Adam, Ejaria, Swift, Méïté, João.
Subs: Walker, Miazga, Rinomhota, Obita, McCleary, Boyé, Olise.
