A well-struck free-kick by Lewis Baker, which whistles just past Henderson's post and clips the side-netting on the way behind.

A lovely curling effort by Lewis Baker after the Royals had won the ball high upfield.

The midfielder shifted the ball out of his feet and bent towards the top corner, but Henderson sprung into action and pushed away.

Last change of the game as Kieran Dowell comes on in place of Gary Madine.

Just wide by Swift - Dean Henderson's clean sheet is still intact. Garath McCleary's burst of pace on the right allowed him to get to the byline, but midfielder Swift couldn't quite steer inside the near post.

Terrific save by Emi Martínez to deny Scott Hogan a debut goal for the hosts.

A defence splitting pass found the forward on the run - the first touch saw the ball sit up and he prodded goalwards with his second. Fingertips of the Argentine kept it out.

Kieron Freeman, scorer of the Blades' first goal, is injured and has to be replaced by Richard Stearman.

Not far off target by Meite, cutting in off the right and fizzing an effort past the far post. 15 minutes left to play and United's four-goal margin remains intact.

Third and final Reading switch - Garath McCleary comes on and replaces Nélson Oliveira.

Paul Coutts is Sheffield United's first substitute, replacing their captain Oliver Norwood.

With defenders upfield, John Swift is the man tracking back but clips his man and draws a yellow.

A bit of concern for Yakou Meite, who draws a foul from Stevens (who avoids a yellow card) after racing away down the right. Eventually he gets back to his feet and he'll rejoin the attack.

Meite making his way down the right flank.

Andy Yiadom has a shout for a penalty waved away by the referee; he receives a lay-off from Oliveira and gets bumped off the ball, but no infringement spotted by the official.

Side netting by Marvin Johnson, getting forward from left-back. Norwood laid into his path after picking up from Duffy but the angle was tight.

Frustration in abundance at the moment as a promising Reading attack is halted by a late whistle from the referee, giving a free-kick in the Royals' favour but stopping the flow.

Goal - 4-0 to Sheffield United, in fortuitous circumstances.

John Fleck hits from distance but it cannons off a heel and wrong-foots Martínez.

And we're underway again - the Blades get things started again.

Half-time sub for the Royals; Jón Daði Böðvarsson comes on in place of Ovie Ejaria.

HALF-TIME | Sheffield United 3-0 Reading

Clinical finishing from the Blades hands the hosts a comfortable advantage at the interval. An uphill task in the second half.

A minute before the interval, the Blades have their third.

A dangerous ball in from the left is cut out, but Madine arrives first and fires high into the net from inside the area. 3-0 the score.

More frustration for Reading as Meite's ball forward for Barrow sees the winger in a foot-race with Stevens. It looked like the United man was muscled out by Mo, but the assistant awards a foul.

Mo Barrow looks to find an opening.

Reading seeing a lot of the ball and working hard to get the goal to start a comeback.

Ejaria switches play to Barrow on the left, but Stevens gets half a yard on Meite to head clear.

Not for the first time, Meite has some joy in driving down the right flank and cutting inside as he gets into the area. His curling shot is right into the arms of Henderson though, who scoops up.

Barrow with the latest attempt as Swift finds him inside, 25 yards from goal. A firm strike, but it's always rising and Henderson is untroubled.

Meite wins a corner on the right - his low cross after a dissecting ball from Oliveira was cut out.

Swift's corner is half cleared, and Baker chances his arm on a half-volley but slices his left-footed effort well over the bar.

A substitution for Reading. Liam Kelly can't continue after his early knock, and John Swift steps in.

A second goal for Sheffield United - 2-0 the score.

Reading caught in possession by Freeman - Moore makes a recovery tackle in the box but Gary Madine picks up and hammers in from close range.

A good oppportunity for the Royals to level things up as Liam Kelly win the ball in the centre circle and sets off an attack. Baker storms forward, lays wide to Barrow, but the winger can't quite pick out Oliveira in the middle, and it's hacked away for a Royals throw.

Some concern for Kelly, who needs some treatment - took a whack in winning possession.

A chance for a second goal for the hosts but Enda Stevens steers his header over the bar. It was a game of head-tennis in the Royals box and former Reading man Oli Norwood was the one to nod into Stevens' path.

A frustrating start to the game for the Royals as the hosts turned their first attack into a goal.

Blades are pressing high and making it difficult to build. Oliveira's cross-field ball for Barrow is cut out by Cranie, who heads back to goalkeeper Henderson.

Goal - Sheffield United take an early lead, less than 40 seconds played.

Mark Duffy finds space on the left, tries to curl towards the far post and Kieron Freeman bundles in.

And we're off.

It's the Royals who get the ball rolling as Nélson Oliveira takes the kick-off, shooting away from our travelling fans in the first period.
