FULL TIME | Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Reading

A second consecutive clean sheet and another point on the board for José Gomes and his squad.

Safe journey home to Berkshire this evening to all who travelled.

Best chance of the game right at the death for the hosts - as Palmer gets into the box and Reach, somehow, manages to spoon his effort over the bar. A let-off at the last for Reading.

Callum Harriott flies forward and picks out Böðvarsson on the left, who cuts into the box but Morgan Fox is able to track back and make a vital tackle.

Four added minutes to be played here.

Wednesday work it forward and Joao plays outside the area to Reach, who lashes his shot wide. Not long until added time.

Another like-for-like change up front for the Owls, with Atdhe Nuhiu coming on for Steven Fletcher.

Five minutes of normal time remaining here, still time for either team to find the crucial goal.

Just about to see a Reading corner come in, but not before Sone Aluko comes off for Jón Daði Böðvarsson in Reading's final subsitution.

Barry Bannan has a free-kick for Wednesday from range, he tries to bend around the wall but it was nowhere near troubling Martínez.

A straight swap up front for the Owls, as Lucas Joao comes on to replace Fernando Forestieri.

Another substitution for Reading, as Lewis Baker makes way for Callum Harriott.

The hosts are starting to see more of the ball now, putting plenty of pressure on the Reading back line, but the Royals hold firm for now.

First substitution of the day for Sheffield Wednesday, with Rolando Aarons coming on for George Boyd.

Reading have had the better of it in the second half, but neither team has found the opener yet.

First change of the day for Reading, and it's an attacking one.

Garath McCleary makes way for Yakou Méïté, who immediately comes in to lead the line up front.

All Reading at the moment.

Swift overlooks a free-kick from 25 yards out after Barrow is hacked down. He bends it over the wall and Westwood watches it all the way to catch.

Baker takes aim from outside the box, a big deflection sees it dipping towards goal and Westwood has to track back to acrobatically tip over the bar.

Another effort for the Royals.

Baker wins it in midfield and lays off to Swift, who spreads to Garath McCleary on the chase.

He cuts inside and lets fly from 20 yards - but it goes a yard or so wide.

Good chance for Reading!

Baker breaks at speed and plays Aluko through on goal, but Michael Hector gets back to make a vital block.

John Swift tries to follow up, but it's deflected wide for a corner, which the Owls can clear.

Here we go!

45 minutes remain here at Hillsborough, with the teams locked level.

The teams are back out, and we're just about ready for the second half to get underway...

HALF TIME | Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Reading

A half packed with chances at both ends, but we go in goalless at the break at Hillsborough.

One added minute to be played.

What a save!

Wednesday get forward and Forestieri lays off for Hutchinson eight yards out, powering at goal and Emi Martínez makes a stunning stop to keep Reading level. Not long until the interval.

Wednesday work the ball back and forth around the Reading area, with Bannan eventually having a go from range.

It doesn't trouble Emi Martínez, however, and goes comfortably wide of the post.

The ball goes over the top and Mo Barrow beats Westwood to it, heading out of his hands. The angle was acute but the goalkeeper managed to recover and make a fine save from the Reading man.

Very good chance for the hosts.

Reach cuts in from the right and tries to thread through for Forestieri in the box, he swings and misses with the ball going behind for a goal kick - but the flag had gone up anyway.

Time ticking on towards the interval, nothing separating the teams so far.

A handball given against Andy Yiadom allows Wednesday a free-kick on the left hand side of the area.

Bannan lifts it in and Reading can clear their lines.

Miazga wins it back for Reading in midfield and Swift threads through for Barrow to chase.

He gets to the 18-yard line, cutting back for Baker to strike and a deflection takes it narrowly wide of Westwood's goal. Good chance for the Royals.

Wednesday start to apply the pressure and force a corner.

It comes into the far post and Morgan Fox gets a head to it, putting it well over the bar.

Play has settled down after a hotly-contested opening part of the game.

Both sides have had chances, but it's still goalless as it stands.

Almost 1-0 to Reading!

Sone Aluko cuts away from his marker and recycles a Reading corner, chipping into the area and Liam Moore acrobatically tries a volley at goal.

It takes a heavy deflection, and Kieren Westwood has to claw it away from goal at the last. Unlucky for the Royals.

Safe hands again from Emi Martínez.

Fernando Forestieri's eyes light up from 25 yards and he strikes on target, with the goalkeeper getting his whole body behind it and gathering.

John Swift stands over a free-kick 20 yards out for Reading...

The wall does its job on this occasion, however, and blocks his attempted strike at goal.

Better from the Royals.

They manage to work it out to Barrow out wide, who swings in a cross but it's just over the Reading heads in the box, going behind for a goal-kick.

Big save from Emi Martínez!

A corner comes in from Wednesday and George Boyd strikes at goal, with our goalkeeper making a superb save to parry away.

And we're off!

“We need to win. If we win, we will get closer to being in a safe position. That’s what we hope and what we are trying to do this Saturday.
