Schools may be winding down during the half-term break, but it’s been all systems go for our Community Trust – who have been out and about all over the local area.
Across Wokingham, Thatcham and Woodley, the Trust’s well-known Soccer Schools have been in full flow with over 250 children in attendance altogether.
However, it’s not just a full day of football that they get. There has even been a number of surprise visits from some very recognisable first-team players.
At Bohunt School in Wokingham, first team defender, Chris Gunter and Women’s team player, Georgia Clifford were both in attendance at a Soccer School session on Tuesday to take questions and have photos with all the attendees.
And two further players will be in attendance in the coming days, with Garath McCleary and George Legg both set to attend sessions at the Dome and in Thatcham respectively.
Away from Soccer Schools, Development Centre teams from the U7s to the U14s were in action against Wycombe Wanderers as part of a games day on the 3G pitch behind the Dome at Madejski Stadium.
Also in Development Centre action against West Bromwich Albion and Peterborough United were the U10s, U12s, U14s and U16s women.
All in all, our Community Trust has engaged with over 600 children and rising during the half-term break.
