José Gomes gave his pre-match thoughts before the Royals head to Old Trafford this weekend, taking on Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup.
He's hoping to see his squad play to their full potential in this Third Round tie up in Manchester, with an undoubtedly tough test against one of the biggest clubs in world football.
The Red Devils have been in resurgent form of late, winning four Premier League matches out of four in Ole Gunnar Solskjær's fledgling caretaker reign at Old Trafford.
Here's what the manager had to say ahead of Saturday's match...
Gomes on FA Cup opportunity...
"All the games are good opportunities for the players who start to show what they can really do as football players. We have one more game that they will get in their hands, to show that they can do it.
"It's a special game, playing away against Man United. They're a very strong team, now they're playing with a different dynamic - it looks like the players are more comfortable with the way they are playing now.
"It will be a very tough game for us, but it's a football game so everything can happen. We have a small light that can give us some hope, that we can play our football, play good football, and the result - we don't know. Everything can happen."
Gomes on playing style at Old Trafford...
"I've just arrived, today I had training number eight with the players. Because we're playing a strong team, there's no logic in my tactical opinion to change my ideas completely that I'm sharing every day with my players in this short period of time.
"I must use this game, give the chance to my players to try what they have been doing in this period with a strong, strong opponent.
"We will play under our football rules, trying to show our football and our ideas."
Gomes on challenging at Manchester United...
"Sometimes it's just small details. We are not talking about the difference between Manchester United and Reading - it's the way you believe in yourselves.
"It's the way you're doing things, the energy you're putting into it. In all moments, but especially these moments when we're near the bottom of the table, we have no time to give any less than 100%.
"Everyone must give the maximum that they can, I'm sure with that the way they're training every day, we will shift and get the goals that we want."
Gomes on Manchester United...
"It's one of the biggest clubs in the world. If you go to China, South America, Australia, all of the kids know them, they play PlayStation and choose Man United.
"When I was assistant coach at FC Porto, I already had the honour to be in charge at Old Trafford - I was assistant coach but the head coach was in the stand.
"It was 2008-09 or 2009-10, we went to Old Trafford and we lost 1-0. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a great goal, John O'Shea played in this game I think!
"It's a special moment playing against these teams, especially with the atmosphere at Old Trafford - it's amazing.
"It's a football day. It's like a football party, we must be happy to be a part of it.
"I've been before, it was a great experience and I have the luck to repeat this experience now. I just hope my players can also enjoy this moment, because it's a special moment to play up there.
"With United's quality, they are able to break any defensive line. They have very high individual quality, it doesn't matter which manager they have helping them during the week. Individually, they can resolve matches."
