Reading Football Club can announce that 20-year-old defender Gabriel Osho has completed a loan move to League One side Bristol Rovers.
The paperwork, which will run until the end of the current campaign, was completed and registered in time for the talented centre-half to potentially make his Pirates debut this evening as Graham Coughlan’s men host Peterborough United at the Memorial Stadium.
Osho is one of a number of Royals players who we can certainly call ‘one of our own’.
Having come through every age level within our esteemed Academy, Gabe earned his place on the Academy Honours Board last month when he impressed on Royals debut in a narrow home defeat to Middlesbrough before Christmas.
Our no.47 swiftly followed in fellow Academy product Tom McIntyre’s footsteps and became the 49th Academy graduate to break into the Reading first team that afternoon.
He also came off the bench on Boxing Day at Millwall four days later and, having previously enjoyed loan stints at Maidenhead United and Aldershot in the National League, Osho will now look to earn valuable first team experience during the remainder of the League One season.
Rovers finished last season in mid-table but currently occupy 22nd place in the third tier. However Osho will be looking to help his new teammates pick up points which could rapidly see Rovers rise up the ladder in a division which remains very tightly contested.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Gabe the very best of luck during his time on loan at Bristol Rovers.
