Reading Football Club can confirm that Dutch midfielder Pelle Clement has agreed to leave the Royals’ ranks to sign for Dutch top flight side PEC Zwolle.
Clement arrived at Madejski Stadium in June 2017 and made 14(+15) appearances across all competitions during his 18 months as a Royal.
Pelle has been on the periphery of the first team squad in recent months, playing for a total of just 64 minutes this season after coming off the bench as a first half substitute in our Carabao Cup win over Birmingham City back in August.
The versatile Amsterdam-born player now returns to his native Netherlands to be reunited with former Royals manager Jaap Stam, who has recently taken the reins at PEC Zwolle - one of his former clubs as both player and coach.
Zwolle currently sit in 16th place in the Eredivisie, just three points clear of De Graafschap at the foot of the table. And Clement now joins up with his new teammates in Spain to take part in a mid-season training camp during the winter break in Holland.
Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Pelle the very best of luck at PEC Zwolle and in his future career.
The transfer remains subject to the normal ratification procedures of the relevant football authorities.
