After a remarkable season and a well deserved break, its back to action for Andy as the first team returned to training, with the midfielder’s focus on continuing where he left of in May.

Scoring your first senior goal and being named the Player of the Season, it doesn’t get much better than that for an Academy graduate making their breakthrough.

For Andy, the focus is now on preparing for the start of the new season, having enjoyed the time off and the chance to recuperate.

“It was my first full season in, so I played probably more games than I was used to compared with the Under-23 season,” said Andy.

“Having the break was nice just to refresh and mentally prepare myself for this coming season, and physically prepare as well.

“I’ll just approach things the same in the same situations, go into the games with the same mentality, and just do what I normally do and try play the best I can.”

The summer break is always a good chance for players to relax after a hard season, with the first day back at training a chance for them to catch up before the intensity soon picks up ahead of the first game.

“I caught up with a few of the players over the summer, but obviously some you don’t get to see, so it’s always nice to come back in and see what they’ve been up to.

"You do bits over the summer, but it’s not the same as the intensity and standard of training so it will be good to get straight back in and involved.

“We’ve got some good friendlies lined up so I think they will be tough, a difficult task but it gets us prepared for the season and hopefully then we can approach it the right way and get off to a good start.

“It will be key to get a good start and then its just something to build on. You get a bit of momentum going and then you just keep on picking up wins throughout the season.”
