At Reading Football Club we are always trying to improve our operations, enhance your matchday experience and better serve our supporters each season.
So for 2019-20, we have implemented a number of modifications that should be able to make buying matchday tickets that little bit easier.
Your Royals Account | A new season and a new online system
We launched a brand new ticketing platform in mid-May, offering a new level of service that will improve the user-experience for our fans. This season, it will be easier for supporters to browse online and buy both match tickets and merchandise on all devices, wherever you are.
To take advantage of this new online system, supporters are required to simply set up a new Royals Account and in a matter of minutes you will be able to buy online.
Creating a Royals Account is a quick and easy one-off process, which allows you to sign in once and then browse and buy at the mere click of a button from our new online Ticket Office and Fanstore platforms.
For any fan who has not yet registered their Royals Account, a step-by-step walkthrough and a FAQ page should offer any additional help you need.
Find your tickets at our Fanstore
As part of the redevelopment of our Fanstore, this will be the best location for fans to buy ‘in person ticket sales’ on non-matchdays in 2019-20.
Over the next few weeks, the Main Ticket Office will begin to open only on matchdays at the Madejski, so during the week throughout 2019-20 fans will be able instead to speak in person to our sales team in the Fanstore, who will be able to efficiently process any ticket requests you have.
Naturally, supporters will be able to continue to buy tickets via phone from our ticket sales team as normal, using the same 0118 968 1313 number during the same operational hours for ‘by phone’ sales as in 2018-19.
Please note that the Ticket Office will not be open at weekends during the large part of July. It will however open its doors and be available for ‘by phone’ and ‘in person’ purchases on Saturday 27th July ahead of Madejski Stadium preparing for the visit of Chelsea in our final pre-season friendly on Sunday 28th July.
Choose your seat at home…or away!
For the first time, Royals fans will be able to choose their seat for away games in 2019-20.
When booking online using your Royals Account or when purchasing tickets for away games over the phone, supporters will be able to pick their seat for all 23 of our away games in the Championship this season.
So whether it be Elland Road or Ewood Park, the Den or Deepdale, Hillsborough or the Hawthorns - you can decide exactly where you want to sit within the travelling fans’ allocation.
A small booking fee will apply when purchasing away tickets online and over the phone, and while supporters will be able to purchase away tickets in person in the Fanstore or Ticket Office, they will be more limited in their choice of seat.
Print your tickets at home
Getting hold of your ticket will also be easier than ever.
Throughout the course of the 2019-20 campaign, we plan to introduce the option for supporters who purchase match tickets online to print them at home.
This will be initially introduced for tickets purchased between blocks GU8 to GU12 (inclusive) and will be available for those fans from the very start of the 2019-20 season. We then intend to roll this out to supporters purchasing in all four stands at the Madejski in the weeks and months that follow.
Not only will this facility help supporters avoid collection queues on matchdays, but it will also be cheaper for fans - a £1.50 booking fee (per ticket transaction) will apply to all matchday tickets bought over the phone or online this season, but this fee will be waived should supporters either select the new ‘Print At Home’ option or choose to load home tickets onto their Member Card.
