The 2019-20 WSL Fixtures have been released, planning can now begin for the ninth instalment of the competition, and the Royals will kick start their proceedings with a trip to Prenton Park to face Liverpool on the opening day.
Sunday 8th September is when competitive action gets underway for Kelly Chambers’ side away to Liverpool in Birkenhead, and Adams Park will host its first WSL football of the new season when Manchester City make the trip south a week later on Sunday 15th September.
The Royals will hold the bragging rights against their opponents at Prenton Park, having secured a 1-0 win on their travels to Merseyside at the beginning of last season.
The Continental Cup Group stages will begin the weekend commencing the 21st September 2019, with the final to be held on Saturday 29th February 2020.
Last season’s champions Arsenal will visit Adams Park on Sunday 8th December, followed by their London neighbours Tottenham Hotspur to round off the football before the Christmas break.
October, November, March and April are when the international breaks are scheduled while, as it stands, an away trip to the Hive and Tottenham will bring the campaign to a close on Saturday 16th May.
It was a hugely successful 2018-19 season for the Women's team, with a 5th place finish in England’s top tier as well as a first-ever appearance in the FA Cup semi-finals.
It wasn’t just at domestic level either, as on the international stage Sophie Howard returns to Berkshire following her involvement with Scotland in the World Cup in France.
As does England's Jade Moore, who came off the bench to represent the Lionesses in the semi-finals against the eventual winners, the USA.
Both will be looking forward to getting back to action with the rest of the team and starting the season off strongly against Liverpool in September.
Season Tickets are now available to purchase, so don’t miss your opportunity to cheer on the Women’s team week in, week out at Adams Park, in what is sure to be another entertaining season. Click here for more details.
