The draw has been made, and Reading now know their first Carabao Cup opponents of the season.
Near neighbours, Wycombe Wanderers are our opponents in the First Round, with the shortest possible journey for the Royals to make in the draw.
Adams Park is a regular haunt for Reading, with our Under-23 side playing regularly at the home of the Chairboys, as well as Reading FC Women playing their home matches in the WSL in Buckinghamshire.
The draw, made in a branch of Morrisons Supermarket in Colindale by former England internationals, John Barnes and Ray Parlour, saw 70 teams from the EFL split into North and South groupings.
The Royals took ball number 27 on the evening, in a particularly unique iteration of the Carabao Cup draw.
After being knocked out by Premier League opposition in the Second Round and Third Round in the last two seasons, the Royals will be hoping for a strong performance in the cup this time around.
The date and kick-off time for our First Round tie are to be confirmed, and will be announced via the club's digital channels.
The tie is scheduled to take place on the week commencing Monday 12th August, and ticket details for travelling supporters will be announced in due course.
