The numbers are in, and it's good news for the hardy Royals who will be following their club on the road this season.
Royals on the road in 2018-19 will have travelled 7,109 miles in total to follow their side (based on distance between Madejski Stadium and the opposing ground), but the geography of the division has changed markedly for the new campaign.
With Norwich and Ipswich exiting at both ends of the division, as well as Bolton, Rotherham and Sheffield United, the mileage count has dropped by almost 10% on last season's total.
In all, the Royals and their loyal following will travel a total of 6,439 miles across the Sky Bet Championship season - without taking into account any away days on cup matches.
The two longest journeys remain Middlesbrough and Hull City, with round trips of 516 miles and 460 miles respectively. With Hull being our first away day and Boro our fourth, the two longest trips will be dealt with by mid-September.
While relatively short hops have been added in the shape of Fulham, Charlton Athletic and Luton Town, two familiar ventures to Yorkshire await - as Huddersfield Town and Barnsley rejoin the division, clocking in at 408 and 380-mile round trips respectively.
The shortest journey the Royals will take this season will be to Griffin Park, with Brentford sitting just 35 miles away from Madejski Stadium - followed closely by Fulham and QPR, at 38 miles.
As for Inflatables Day, Ewood Park will be the setting for the annual final-day festivities - but a 452-mile round journey awaits those who will be making the trip up the M6 on Saturday 25th April.
Despite the travelling involved, the season will be book-ended by home matches, starting out against Sheffield Wednesday in RG2 before Swansea City come to Berkshire to round off the campaign on Saturday 2nd May.
