Reading Football Club are pleased to announce that six bright young talents have signed new contracts with the club, committing them to the Royals for the 2019-20 season.
Tyler Frost, Adam Liddle and Ramarni Medford-Smith have all signed new professional deals with the club, while goalkeeper, Adam Desbois and defenders, Marcel Elva-Fountaine and Roberto Nditi, will take the next step on their Academy journey by moving up from U18 to U23 football.
Midfield playmaker Frost, 19, was one of the most consistent players in Scott Marshall's Under-23 side in 2018-19, featuring prominently with 21(+6) appearances, scoring seven times - including a strike against Bayern Munich II in the Semi-Finals of the Premier League International Cup.
He also gained experience of senior football with a one-month loan spell in the National League with Havant and Waterlooville earlier in the campaign.
For hard-working striker Liddle, he will be aiming to build on a season that comprised of 10(+6) appearances for our Under-23s, in his first campaign at that level.
Full-back Medford-Smith has shown himself to be a consistent player on all fronts for Scott Marshall's side, taking in 20(+3) matches in all competitions last term.
He also had his first taste of senior football last season, while on loan at National League South outfit, Wealdstone, before returning to add to his contribution with the young Royals.
Meanwhile, three U18 players will now make the next step on their Academy journey by signing their first professional contracts.
Adam Desbois spent time away from the club gaining senior experience last season, but is now back with the Royals for pre-season training. Desbois made 26 valuable appearances in non-league for Hartley Wintney FC last term.
Central defender, Roberto Nditi appeared 16 times for our U18s in 2018-19 and will now make the step up to the U23s, to bolster Scott Marshall’s defensive options ahead of the new season.
Full-back, Marcel Elva-Fountaine clocked 18 appearances for the Royals’ U18s, and even made strides in the U23s with an appearance in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup Final.
Congratulations to all players on their new deals with the club, and we look forward to seeing them progress as Royals in the upcoming season.
