Ahead of the game | Resurgent Royals take on high-flying Whites

All you need to know ahead of a big midweek match

11 March 2019

After one of the most dramatic finishes seen at Madejski Stadium in its history, we dust down and go again against an automatic promotion contender...

Few people would have predicted the result that came to pass in RG2 at the weekend, with the Royals overcoming a 2-1 deficit - in the 89th minute - to beat Wigan Athletic in the most dramatic of circumstances.

But as José Gomes said afterwards, we have no time to revel too much in three crucial points - as three more become available against Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United on Tuesday night.

The Royals go into Tuesday after losing just once in their last eight matches, while Leeds kept up their assault on automatic promotion after a gritty 1-0 win away at fellow promotion hopefuls, Bristol City at the weekend.

In fact, Bielsa's men have won four of their last five matches in the Championship, recovering from a lean patch of form after the new year that saw them knocked off the top of the standings.

As for Reading, Liam Moore is doubtful for Tuesday's match, after Royals boss Gomes revealed the centre-back played on for over half an hour, despite dislocating his shoulder in the second half.

It's set to be another large attendance at Madejski Stadium on Tuesday, so make sure you arrive in plenty of time ahead of the game.
