“It’s been a good week. The lads have worked really hard and we’re ready for the weekend.” Those were the thoughts of Lewis Baker ahead of this weekend’s visit to Ipswich Town.

“We were disappointed for the result last weekend, but for a majority of the game we played really well. So we’re ready for this week – we’ll take the positives from that game into the next one against Ipswich.
“The lads are taking in everything that the manager is saying, and we’re all together as a group. Even though we are where we are, it’s not a down camp. We are all in good spirits and ready for the weekend.
“Even though they’re bottom of the table, there isn’t an easy game in the Championship. We’re ready for what comes ahead.
“We’ll have to be wary of their threats but if we play the way that we can, then I’m sure we’ll get the result that we need.”
With around 1,500 Royals supporters making the trip to Portman Road, the Chelsea loanee is looking forward to being greeted by the travelling fans.
“That’ll be great,” he continued. “At the last game, our fans were fantastic and really did help us.
“If that can continue throughout the rest of the season, I’m sure we’ll be in a better place.”
