José getting Royals ready for the fight in Stoke

Manager on our trip to bet365 Stadium

14 March 2019

Reading are travelling to Stoke City this weekend; with the Royals in action 24 hours earlier than the Potters in midweek, it gave the backroom staff an extra opportunity to take a look at Saturday’s hosts.

Stoke drew 0-0 in Derby on Wednesday evening, a match monitored by the Royals as Nathan Jones’ side grabbed a point. But the big focus, as always, is on getting the Reading team ready.

“We will be watching their game at Derby – our analysts will be there,” said Gomes, before Stoke’s midweek match at Pride Park.

“We are working; there’s no time to cry and no time to rest after losing to Leeds.

“We sleep for a few hours to get ready again – preparing for our trip on Friday ahead of the game on Saturday.

“It will be another big test. A difficult, tough challenge like all of the games.

“But we have to protect ourselves and try to get the points that we need. No doubt about it, we will have to be ready for the fight.”

Reading supporters are reminded that this is an all-ticket match and tickets will not be available to buy on the day at bet365 Stadium. For full information, click the banner below.
