Mo and Yakou on Leeds test

Weekend goalscorers on tonight’s challenge

12 March 2019

Mo Barrow and Yakou Méïté – the scorers of our two late goals against Wigan Athletic on Saturday – are keen to keep the momentum going when we host Leeds United tonight.

It was over a year since the Royals recorded consecutive wins; a third on the spin would be very welcome.

Speaking after our game against Wigan, the pair were immediately focused on the next challenge ahead.

“Most important is back-to-back wins – we hadn’t won two consecutive games for a long time,” Méïté said after his game-winning goal.

“Of course we are happy, but we have to focus on the game against Leeds.

“We need our fans and we need to switch focus quickly. Rest, enjoy the win for a few hours, and then back to training and getting ready for the game on Tuesday.”

Barrow, formerly a Leeds player and our match-winner against the Whites at Elland Road last season, concurred that the Royals’ attention moved swiftly on.

“Leeds are doing well at the moment – but we’ve got two wins as well,” added Mo. “Confidence is coming back and it’s going to be a good game.

“We just have to keep on going – show the same character that we did against Wigan, and against Ipswich last week. And hopefully we will get something out of the game.

“I’ve scored two in my last two, and I’d like to keep it going!”
