Michael Olise was awarded the Maurice Evans Memorial Trophy on Sunday, as he picked up the award for 2018-19 Scholar of the Season.
The 17-year-old, still only a first-year Under-18 player, made his senior debut off the bench as the Royals took on Leeds United back in March after impressing at youth level.
The fleet-footed midfielder is the only player to represent our Under-18s, Under-23s and first team in 2018-19, which is testament to the development he has shown over the campaign.
Olise was awarded his first senior start away at Stoke City prior to the March international break, a game which made him the youngest player in the whole of the Sky Bet Championship to play more than once this season.
Having played 28 times across our U18 and U23 sides this season too, the playmaker has been honing his skills and making the step up to training with the senior squad under José Gomes.
He also has three goals to his name this term, one of which being a sublime free-kick as our U18 squad ran out winners against Cambridge United in the FA Youth Cup.
Olise, who joined the Reading Academy as an Under-15 player, was presented with the Maurice Evans Memorial Trophy on the Madejski Stadium pitch after his start against Birmingham at the weekend, prior to fellow Academy graduate, Andy Rinomhota receiving the Fans' Player of the Season award.
Congratulations to Michael on his award, and we look forward to seeing his continued development as a Reading player next season.
