Reading's Under-23 team has won its way through to the final of the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup, and will be going for silverware on Bank Holiday Monday at Bracknell Town's Larges Lane.
Slough Town vs Reading U23
Larges Lane, Bracknell RG12 9AN
Monday 6th May
Following the conclusion of a long-running appeal, Marlow's disqualification from the competition was upheld and the young Royals will be facing National League South outfit, Slough Town in Monday's final.
While Reading have been infrequent entrants to the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup, the club did win the tournament's inaugural running back in 1879. And Scott Marshall's side have made their way through past tough opposition in the Royals' first run in the competition since 2002.
It'll be our second string's final match of the season, after suffering late heartache at the hands of Newcastle United in the Premier League 2 Play-Offs on Friday night.
Having got past Bracknell Town and Flackwell Heath in the earlier rounds of the competition, our Under-23s put in a Herculean performance against Maidenhead United in the Semi-Final, winning on penalties despite playing with 10 men for 75 minutes.
So after a fantastic season all round for our Under-23s, they'll hope to round off the season on a high and bring some silverware back to Madejski Stadium as due reward for a high level of performance on four fronts this season.
Supporters hoping to watch the match can attend Larges Lane for £8 for Adults, £5 for Concessions and £3 for Under-18s.
