Ahead of the game | Looking forward to the Latics

All you need to know as Royals round off November

29 November 2019

After two narrow defeats for the Royals, they will be looking to bounce back as they finish November at the DW Stadium this weekend...

Wigan Athletic vs Reading
Saturday 30th November, 3pm kick-off
DW Stadium
Sky Bet Championship

Late heartache against Leeds will be forgotten as Mark Bowen's Royals look forward to travelling and taking on Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

The Latics sit two points and four places below Reading going into Saturday's match, with both sides in need of points to climb away from the Championship's bottom three.

Saturday's hosts are struggling for form at the moment, taking just two points from their last six matches, although they did take the lead twice and earned a creditable point away at Millwall in midweek.

Paul Cook's side have taken all four of their Championship wins this season at home, beating Cardiff, Charlton, Birmingham and Nottingham Forest at the DW so far in 2019-20.

For the Royals, Andy Yiadom will be available again after serving a one-match suspension in midweek, with Lucas João having played minutes for our Under-23s on Thursday on his way to recovering from injury.

It's set to be another tight match on Saturday afternoon, as the Royals go in search of three valuable points at the weekend.

Match officials

Jeremy Simpson will be on the whistle on Saturday, as he takes charge of his second Reading match of the season - following last month's 2-2 draw away at Queens Park Rangers.

Mr Simpson brandished the red card in his last Championship outing, sending off Middlesbrough's Marvin Johnson in the first half as Boro clung on for a 2-2 draw against Hull last Sunday.

He also oversaw Wigan in their local encounter against Preston North End back in August, with the Lilywhites emerging as 3-0 winners on the day.

He will be assisted on Saturday by Shaun Hudson and Andrew Fox, with Samuel Barrott on hand as fourth official.

Supporters' Trust At Reading (STAR) offer travel to every Reading away game, details of which can be found on the STAR website here.

This is a designated free coach travel match, with our owner, Dai Yongge, covering the cost of supporter coach travel for Royals making the journey with STAR this weekend.

If you are travelling by car to the North West on Saturday, leave plenty of time for your journey! See directions to the DW from Madejski Stadium below.

It's set fair to be a bright, crisp day on Saturday - but wrap up warm if you're making the long journey north this weekend.
