An incredible £8,820 raised for Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal

An incredible sum raised for a very worthy cause...

14 November 2019

Thank you Royals fans.

An unbelievable £6,317 has been raised for the Poppy Appeal following the end of our match-worn shirt auction yesterday. The profits from the sale of these shirts will soon be delivered to the Royal British Legion.

Our Fanstore staff also sold 550 RFC-branded poppy bin badges which earned the charity another £1,650!

Add to that total the £853 collected from supporters on the day of our 3-0 home win over Luton Town and the final figure raised in support of the Royal British Legion comes to an incredible £8,820!

By far and away the highest bid lodged was the £1,290 offered for Ovie Ejaria's shirt - worn by one of our goalscorers on the afternoon as we saw off the challenge of the Hatters at home.

But every one of our shirts auctioned this week earned more than £200 for the charity.

The profits raised will be used by the Legion to support the vital welfare services it provides to the Armed Forces community.

The charity supports serving and ex-serving personnel all year round, every day of the week. And its support starts after seven days of service and continues through life, long after service is over.

Thank you to all who bid and donated on the day - your generosity will go a long way.
