Mark Bowen says he hopes to iron out small details with his squad as they look to bring all three points back from Wigan at the weekend.
Two narrow defeats in evenly-matched encounters with Brentford and Leeds have checked the Royals' recent progress, but Bowen hopes that the quality of Reading's performances will convert into the points they deserve, as Wigan lie in wait for the Royals.
Bowen told the local media: "It's a long trip up to Wigan, on Friday we'll go up. I said a few words to the players on Tuesday night in terms of my disappointment, talking about the tiny details we can be better at.
"It's about turning performances into, at the very least, a point - like on Tuesday. We can be better than that, but if I get the endeavour that I had on Tuesday and last Saturday, I'll be happy.
"If we look at Saturday's game at Brentford, we took a bit of criticism but I saw the physical stats come back after that, and we'd smashed them in every department.
"We'd run further, run quicker and we had more sprints. What I then take out of the game is that, if we can do that in every game we play from now until the end of the season, we will win more games than we lose.
"I look at the way we're set up now and I'm convinced we'll climb the table. We'll start winning games again soon.
"Leeds went top of the league on Tuesday night and that showed the fine margins between any of the teams in this league.
"It's those little things you've got to put right every week to make sure you've got a better chance of winning games."
