Reading FC Women goalkeeper Grace Moloney was presented with a shirt to celebrate her 150th appearance for the club, before the side’s Continental Cup clash against West Ham United Women on Sunday at Madejski Stadium.
Moloney was handed the framed shirt by long-time manager Kelly Chambers, as her family watched on from the stands.
An unrivalled homegrown success story, Moloney has been with the club since the age of 9. She spent a season on loan at Aston Villa Women in 2016 before subsequently established herself as first-choice for the Royals. Moloney is also a regular in the Republic of Ireland squad and will travel with her national side to Athens this week for their Women's Euro 2021 Qualifier against Greece.
Moloney was presented with her 100th appearance shirt by manager Kelly Chambers eighteen months ago, in May of 2018 when the side beat Liverpool 3-0, and the short timeframe between the two landmarks are testament to Moloney's status within the team as number 1.
Craig McCreeth, first team goalkeeping coach for Reading FC Women said, “To reach 150 appearances for a club is a huge achievement and for Grace this has been achieved through hard work on and off the pitch and a continued desire to be the best goalkeeper she can be.”
