Reading vs Leeds United
Sky Bet Championship
Tuesday 26th November 2019
Madejski Stadium
8pm kick-off

After narrowly missing out on promotion last season, Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United are doing all in their power to go one better this time around and return to the top flight.

They're sitting just two points behind West Brom at the top of the table at the moment, with Bielsa's men also boasting the best defensive record in the Championship so far - with just 10 goals conceded in their 17 matches this season.

The Whites also struck late to beat Luton Town at the weekend, with a Matty Pearson own goal giving Leeds all three points on the day, alongside Patrick Bamford scoring his sixth of the season.

Reading, meanwhile, will be without the suspended Andy Yiadom, who misses out after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season at the weekend against Brentford. Chris Gunter and Teddy Howe are the likely candidates to replace Yiadom on the night, while Sam Baldock also looks set to miss out after coming off injured at the weekend.

Mark Bowen's side have won each of their last three matches at home, however, and will look to continue that run on Tuesday night against difficult opposition.

The Sky Sports cameras are in town on the night, but the vocal backing of Royals supporters around the ground will be vital as Reading go in search of three more Sky Bet Championship points.

On the whistle on Tuesday night will be Darren Bond, who is overseeing his first Reading match of the season, and is the second time he has taken charge of Leeds.

The first time Mr Bond oversaw tonight’s visitors was a 1-0 home defeat against Swansea back in August, and is taking charge of his first Reading game since November 2018, when Yakou Méïté equalised late on in a 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town at Madejski Stadium.

The referee has averaged around four yellow cards per match this season, although this number is skewed by a fraught encounter between West Bromwich Albion and Barnsley back in October.

Mr Bond will be assisted by Adam Crysell and Daniel Leach, with James Linington keeping the peace between the benches as fourth official.
