Reading FC Women are extremely pleased to announce that our Barclays FA WSL fixture against Arsenal on December 8th at Adams Park will be our nominated Stonewall Rainbow Laces fixture, where players from both clubs will be wearing rainbow laces to help promote LGBT equality in sport.
The initiative from Stonewall runs from 22nd November – 8th December and Reading have nominated our match against Arsenal on the final day of the campaign as our chance to show our support.
The match will mark Kelly Chambers’ side’s return to Adams Park, Wycombe, the first time they have played there since mid-October when they defeated Everton Women 3-2. Since then, the Royals played 4 home games at Madejski Stadium, the most recent being an impressive 6-0 victory over Crystal Palace last week.
The Rainbow Laces fixture against Arsenal will also be broadcast live by the BBC on the Red Button service, which will add further focus to the incredibly worthy cause.
Reading men's team showed their support by holding their own Stonewall Rainbow Laces fixture last night when Championship leaders Leeds United visited the Madejski.
Reading FC Women vs Arsenal Women in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League will be played at Adams Park, Wycombe, on December 8th, kick-off at 2.30pm.
