Even though the fixture list is unrelenting after football returns this weekend, there is only one game on the radar for Royals midfielder Andy Rinomhota.
It’s an old cliché, but the next game is the most important one. And the next game is away at Brentford's Griffin Park.
The Royals squad will have a quick turnaround after meeting the Bees before they visit Leeds – but Rinomhota isn’t thinking about that. It’s all about trying to pick up three points on Saturday before they can shift their attention elsewhere.
“We’re only thinking about Brentford,” Rinomhota said. “We take every game as it comes, then once we get that game out of the way – hopefully pick up a result – then focus on the next one.
“Even though it’s Saturday then Tuesday, it will be a quick turnaround but we will make it work.
“In the next month or so, and over Christmas, it’s always busy with games every Saturday and Tuesday, and even the games on Boxing Day and leading up to New Year.
“It all comes thick and fast, so you want your body to be in the best possible shape going into those games and that busy time period.”
