Reading FC Women are extremely pleased to announce that we are dedicating our match on Sunday at Madejski Stadium against Bristol City Women to the Kick It Out Campaign.
Sunday’s match falls during the inaugural FA Women’s Football Weekend, the main objective of which is to encourage football fans to go out and watch a women’s game this weekend in the absence of any men’s football due to the international break.
With Women’s Football Weekend being such a historic date for women’s football at all levels, Reading are pleased to dedicate such a high-profile fixture to such a worthy cause. Kick It Out are English football’s pioneering equality and inclusion organisation, and both Reading FC Women and our opponents at Madejski on Sunday, Bristol City Women, are proud to support the cause.
A small independent charity, the ‘Let’s Kick Racism Out of Football’ campaign, as it was originally known, was established in 1993 in response to widespread calls from clubs, players and fans to tackle racist attitudes existing within the game. Kick It Out was then established as a body in 1997 as it widened out its objectives to cover all aspects of discrimination, inequality and exclusion.
