Swift hoping to offer tough test to his former side

Midfielder previews visit to Griffin Park

18 November 2019

Reading will visit Griffin Park for the final time on Saturday, ahead of the West London club’s move to their new home next summer.

And midfield man John Swift, who previously represented Brentford as a Chelsea loanee before joining the Royals, knows that the Bees will provide a stern opposition – especially off the back of a 3-0 win at Wigan last time out.

But Reading also registered a 3-0 win of their own – at home against Luton – and the midfield man is sure that the Royals will be able to give as much as they get.

“It’ll be another tough game,” said Swift. “They are a good team and they had a good result before the international break as well.

“So it’s a game that we’ll go into knowing that it’ll be tough. But hopefully we can make it tough for them as well.

“They are a great team on their day and they can play some really good football. But we have shown that we can do the same.”
