Mark Bowen spoke of the desire to build on Saturday's win for the Royals, as they get ready to take on Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night.
Bowen capped his first match in charge with a last-minute winner against Preston North End on Saturday afternoon, as Matt Miazga struck at the death to move Reading clear of the bottom three in the Sky Bet Championship.
With another tough opponent in wait on Tuesday night, Bowen hopes to use Saturday's win as a platform for future success on the pitch - starting out against Queens Park Rangers under the lights at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
"We've got a lot of catching up to do, but why not?" Bowen said.
"We were in on Sunday to recover right. There was a little bit of sickness in the camp, so we'll tick boxes there to see who's right and who's not.
"There's no point patting ourselves on the back after the Preston game, we've got to get the next game won as well so we can start climbing the table.
"Sunday was all about recovery and counting the bodies. The lads who hadn't played on Saturday will have had an intensive session to ensure they're not losing out on fitness."
Reading supporters have until midday on Tuesday 22nd October to secure their seat at QPR on Tuesday evening, click here for full ticket information, while the match is also set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Tuesday night.
