It has been a busy time for the Royals this season, and plenty of players have been plying their trade on loan elsewhere this season - here's how our loanees have been getting on recently.
Marc McNulty - Sunderland
The Scottish striker has quickly found his feet in League One with Sunderland. The Reading loanee has scored four times in his first nine appearances for the Black Cats, netting against Grimsby Town in the Leasing.com Trophy in midweek as he makes his way back from a minor injury.
Tennai Watson - Coventry City
Young full-back, Tennai Watson has found match minutes difficult to come by in his spell at Coventry City so far, making one league appearance off the bench to date. He has kept two clean sheets in as many matches in the Leasing.com Trophy so far, playing 90 minutes against Yeovil Town and Forest Green Rovers in the Sky Blues' group.
Sam Smith - Cambridge United
The young Academy graduate has steadily improved in his time with the U's so far in League Two this season. Smith has been a regular starter for Colin Calderwood's side this term, and after going eight appearances without a goal, the striker has hit form - going on a run of five goals in as many games in the fourth tier, with Smith aiming to extend his run away at Salford City at the weekend.

Away from English shores, goalkeeper Vito Mannone has enjoyed a successful season so far on loan in the MLS, with Minnesota United. Mannone and his teammates kept 11 clean sheets on the way to a 4th-place finish in the Western Conference to book a place in the end-of-season Play-Offs, where they'll face a tough test against Western Conference table-toppers, LA Galaxy.

In Turkey, Mo Barrow has been a regular in the Denizlispor team while on loan away from RG2. After two wins to start the season, Denizlispor have since slipped to 13th in the table after no wins in their last five matches. Barrow has scored once in eight appearances so far, in a 2-0 win over Antalyaspor at the start of the season.
Sone Aluko - Beijing Renhe
In China, it has been a difficult season in the Chinese Super League for Beijing Renhe and Sone Aluko. Renhe sit bottom of the Chinese Super League as it stands, with two games in hand and currently sitting seven points off safety. Aluko has played regularly while over in China, scoring three times in his loan spell so far.
Adrian Popa - FCSB
Winger, Adrian Popa has settled back into life in familiar surroundings as he returned to Steaua Bucharest on loan for the season. The 31-year-old has made 3(+3) appearances so far in his second spell with the club, scoring once. After a tricky start to the campaign, Steaua are steadily climbing back up the table in the Romanian top tier, sitting 10th as it stands.
