Royals Women report for international duty this week

A busy schedule of fixtures for Kelly Chambers’ players

3 October 2019

Another international break in domestic action sees a plethora of call-ups for Reading FC Women once again.

Norway and Wales are represented heavily, as a trio of each head to international duty. The Welsh national side is headed up by Royals Captain Natasha Harding who scored a hat-trick last time out against the Faroe Islands, as well as Angharad James and a return to the national squad for Rachel Rowe, who regains her place after a short injury.

This number is bolstered by the addition of on-loan Royal Charlie Estcourt, currently on a spell at Charlton Athletic, who is also called up to the side.

Wales are away to Belarus in a UEFA Women’s Euro Qualifier on Tuesday 8th October.

Norway, in the same qualifying group as Wales, also take on Belarus away on October 4th, followed by another away fixture against the Faroe Islands.

Amalie Eikeland, Kristine Leine and Lisa-Marie Utland all make it into the Norway squad for the duo of internationals. All three of the Norwegians signed for Kelly Chambers’ Reading side over the summer and have become instant mainstays in the team.

Eikeland scored a brace in the team’s last international fixture against Northern Ireland, who will have their own Royals representative in Rachel Furness, currently on loan at Tottenham, for their camp.

Reading FC Women’s number one, Grace Moloney makes the Republic of Ireland squad that host Ukraine in Group I on October 8th and also representing ROI, at Under 19s level, is Reading Women's Academy's Niamh Reynolds.

England's Young Lionesses will be represented when first team defender, Kiera Skells is called up for the Under 19’s for a trio of matches against Cyprus, Belarus and Serbia, and Mayumi Pacheco for the Under 21's fixture camp.

After the international fixtures, Reading FC Women will return to action on October 13th at Adams Park as they host Everton in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. Tickets can still be purchased HERE.
