First ever goal scored by an Under-10 as Spurs came to our brand new training facility...

23 September 2019

Our brand new training facility reached another milestone on Sunday when we opened the gates to some of the younger age groups within our Academy for a competitive set of fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur.

With the changing rooms now up and running, our esteemed Academy were able to host the start of our Under-9 - Under-15s games programme at the state-of-the-art Bearwood Park site.

It was a sunny start to Sunday as stewards directed parents, scouts, staff and the players themselves as everyone began to enjoy and acclimatise to a very new environment to watch some of our stars of the future against Spurs.

It was apt, perhaps, that our opponents came from a club adapting to a brand new facility themselves, having only moved into their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium surroundings earlier this year.

And, importantly, it was a Reading player who scored the first ever goal at Bearwood Park - Diyan Sangha finding the back of the net inside the first minute of competitive football at the facility - breaking the deadlock in the Under-10s encounter.

The clouds came and rain fell, but there was no dampening of spirits on what was another magnificent milestone for #ProjectBearwood.

Here are some of the best photos from Sunday...
