Join Johnny on mental health walk from Fulham to RG2

Support fundraising effort on behalf of Mind

24 September 2019

In advance of Reading’s match against Fulham on Tuesday 1st October, a group of supporters of both clubs will be walking from Craven Cottage to Madejski Stadium, all in the name of mental wellbeing.

And you can help their efforts – either by donating to their fundraising total, or by getting involved on the walk.

Johnny Hunt, a STAR board member, did the walk from RG2 to Craven Cottage back in April 2018. Now it’s almost time for the reverse leg. It’s all in aid of a good cause, too – they are fundraising for Mind - The Mental Health Charity.

Johnny and the other organisers are passionate about raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing and suicide prevention – suicide remains the biggest killer of men under 45. The fundraising effort is being held in memory of their friend Tim Bates - this is the latest of many efforts to earn vital funds for a fantastic cause.

The group are set to meet at Craven Cottage at 9pm on Monday 30th September and will walk overnight through to Berkshire. And if you can’t do the full distance, there are meeting points along the way in Bracknell and Wokingham.
