Novakovich completes permanent move to Serie B

Striker signs for Frosinone Calcio for undisclosed fee

2 September 2019

Academy graduate Andrija Novakovich has completed a permanent move away from the Madejski by signing for Italian Serie B side Frosinone Calcio for an undisclosed fee.

The striker, who turns 23 this month, joined our Academy ranks in 2014 and twice came off the bench to feature for our first team towards the end of the 2014-15 season - making his debut at Vicarage Road to become the 36th Academy product to feature for our senior side.

Novakovich went on to spend loan spells at Cheltenham and Dutch second tier side Telstar, before enjoying a return to Holland in 2018-19, playing his football in the Eredivisie with newly-promoted Fortuna Sittard.

Now in the final year of his contract at Reading, the US international has made a permanent move to Italy and Frosinone Calcio.

Alongside Empoli and Chievo, Frosinone were relegated from Serie A last season. But under the guidance of newly-appointed manager Alessandro Nesta, they will be aiming to bounce straight back with Novakovich leading the line.

Everyone at Reading Football Club would like to wish Andrija the vest best of luck in Italy and every success in his career going forward.
