Reading Football Club was delighted to show its support to the Reading Pride festival, that took place in Reading town centre over the weekend.
The annual festival, now in its 16th year, saw the Love Unites Parade head through the centre of Reading, celebrating love in all its forms and offering people the opportunity to show their support for Pride and the campaign towards equality.
And Reading FC, alongside the Berks & Bucks FA, and Support U - a leading LGBT+ help and support service based in the Thames Valley, showed their support and engaged with the local community at King's Meadow on the day.
Club staff and coaches from the Reading FC Community Trust hosted a penalty-taking competition, encouraging people to take part and play football. Rainbow laces, Rainbow Reading FC keyrings along with home ticket vouchers for our Men’s and Women’s league fixtures were given out to enable festivalgoers the opportunity to come to a Royals home match of their choice this season.
Friendship, Community, Commitment and Ambition are our four core values and as a values-driven organisation, the club is focussed in the work we do in creating and offering an inclusive environment for all our supporters, whether that’s on matchdays or through the way we engage with our local community – we want everyone to feel welcome and part of the Royals family.
