It’s been a long time since we last felt the influence of the home support from our fans inside Madejski Stadium. The world has changed since we met Sheffield United in our FA Cup outing in March… and now, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
Like other clubs in Tier 2 restrictions, we are finally able to welcome back 2,000 supporters for fixtures – beginning with our home meeting with Nottingham Forest on Saturday 5th December. Welcome news for all concerned, including manager Veljko Paunović – since joining in the summer, it’ll be the first fixture in front of the Royals support.
“We are very happy that soon we are going to have our fans back!” said Pauno.
“For me, it is still something new and something I didn’t experience. But I’m very happy and very excited to know that our fans will be back soon.
“To get to know them, to feel their warmth, and their support for the team will be crucial for going forward in our quest for the first six places in the league!
“I can’t wait for our supporters to come, and to feel the atmosphere. It’s about feeling life again, with people here and supporting. The atmosphere will change and it’s coming at the right moment for the team.
“I heard that fans have been making comments on the radio about my outfit… when the fans are back, I’ll put my suit on!”
