🦉 Ahead of the game | Heading up to Hillsborough this weekend

The big match preview as the Royals get ready for the Owls

14 February 2020

It's another quick turnaround for the Royals in the Sky Bet Championship, as they dust themselves down to go again at Hillsborough this weekend...

Sheffield Wednesday vs Reading
Saturday 15th February, 7.45pm

Sky Bet Championship
Hillsborough

After defeat to the league leaders on Wednesday night, Mark Bowen's side head to South Yorkshire determined to bring all three points back with them on the coach journey home on Saturday evening.

Garry Monk's side are in need of a win, though, with just one league victory in nine supplementing their Emirates FA Cup run, having lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Luton Town in midweek.

This run of form has seen the Owls drop from a place in the top six to sit nine points away from the play-off picture. Their hopes of battling for promotion may hinge on a good result against the Royals, so they will be going all out to put themselves back in the frame.

However, the Owls could be welcoming key personnel back into the side at the weekend, with Morgan Fox and Adam Reach expected to be fit to feature against the Royals on Saturday afternoon.

For Reading, Andy Yiadom returned to the starting line-up on Wednesday night and could feature again at the weekend, with Lucas João ruled out of facing his former club.

George Pușcaș will be hoping to keep his place up front after scoring against the Baggies in midweek, while central defenders, Matt Miazga and Tom McIntyre remain sidelined alongside Chris Gunter.

What's certain is that it will be another difficult game for the Royals on Saturday, and with Storm Dennis on the way, the weather could also play its part at Hillsborough.
