Barnsley arrive at Madejski Stadium this weekend in the relegation zone – but in good form. Wins in each of their last three outings have given the Tykes hope of avoiding the drop down to League 1.
Defender Michael Morrison knows that any team coming to RG2 will offer a stern test – and that it’s up to those in blue and white hoops to provide the solutions and take the game to their visitors.
“At this time of year, you won’t get an easy game,” said Morrison ahead of our game against in-form Barnsley. “The results in this league can really turn on their head. There is no banker – that shouldn’t be any surprise.
“We know that teams will come here and work hard, press us and try to stop us playing our game. We can’t be surprised by that – we have to find the answers. And we have to find them quick on Saturday.
“There were a few harsh words exchanged in the dressing room after the game against Wigan – we realise where we are, and now we have another home match. So we pick ourselves up, develop a plan and try to win that game.
“Football changes really quickly. If we go and win that, suddenly there’s a bit more positivity around the place and we could be eight points clear. It’s a good opportunity to get away from it again.”
