No fewer than sixteen players from the Reading FC Women first team and Academy have been called up to international duty over the coming weeks, representing five nations between them.
A quartet of Welsh Royals have been requested on international duty for their national side for the upcoming friendly fixture against Estonia on March 6th in Wrexham. Captain Natasha Harding, Angharad James and Rachel Rowe make the Wales squad, as do on-loan Royals Charlie Estcourt and Lily Woodham, currently both at Charlton Athletic.
Defender Sophie Howard receives another callup for Scotland as they embark on the Pinatar Cup, which sees them take on Ukraine on 4th March, Iceland on the 7th and Northern Ireland on the 10th.
Norway striking duo Lisa-Marie Utland and Amalie Eikeland play Denmark on 3rd March and goalkeeper Grace Moloney makes the Republic of Ireland squad that takes on Greece at home and Montenegro away in UEFA Women’s European Championship qualifying.
The Young Lionesses are represented heavily too, as first team defender Maz Pacheco makes the England Under-21s squad for a duo of games against France at St. George's Park, as well as Academy players Mia Cruickshank, Sophie Quirk, Emma Harries and goalkeeper Rhiannon Stewart receiving call-ups for England Under-18s duty while Academy Captain and first team squad member Kiera Skeels receives an England Under-19s call-up for the U19 La Manga Tournament. Finally, in other Under-19s news, Niamh Reynolds is called up for the Republic of Ireland Under-19s squad, making a total of 15 Royals representing their respective countries.
