🔜 Ahead of the game | Scheming to beat the Tangerines

A look ahead to the visit to Bloomfield Road

14 January 2020

It wasn’t settled at Madejski Stadium, so instead Reading are heading up to Blackpool on Tuesday evening to try and get into the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.

And there will be a winner on the night at Bloomfield Road, one way or another. It could take extra time and penalties, potentially, if the sides can’t be divided after 90 minutes.

Reading showed character to bounce back twice when the sides met at Madejski – efforts by Nathan Delfouneso and Armand Gnanduillet were clawed back by Sam Baldock and Danny Loader in turn. And Gnanduillet missed from the penalty spot to keep the sides level.

Now, it’s a long old poke up to the north west to get the tie done and dusted.

Either Carlisle or Cardiff await the winners; their replay set to take place on Wednesday evening.
