Jordan Obita spoke of Reading's desire to get back on track in the league on Friday night, after a narrow defeat on Tuesday night.
Cardiff City are the opponents for the Royals, with Neil Harris' side almost impenetrable at home this season - having lost just once at the Cardiff City Stadium in the league.
Preston and Fulham are the only teams with better home records in the Championship this season - Reading came away with wins from both over the festive period, and Obita hopes the Royals will be able to do the same at Cardiff on Friday.
"We know if we can go on a run, we can climb back up again," Obita said after the Royals played Bristol City on Tuesday night.
"We need to try and probably be a bit more organised going forward, put more bodies in the box and try and get those goals.
"We know on our day that we can be a really good side, hopefully we can put it right on Friday, let's try and get back up that table again.
"They're a good side. Very organised, very physical. But if we match them, I'm sure we can beat them.
"We'll keep fighting and pushing as much as we can, hopefully we can get as far up the table as we can and try and push, hopefully, for a play-off position."
