🥁 Team news | Royals switch-up squad for FA Cup tie

FA Cup Fourth Round clash sees 11 changes from midweek Forest game

25 January 2020

Manager Mark Bowen has rung the changes for our Emirates FA Cup tie against Cardiff City - but there is still experience on the field to meet the Bluebirds.

Defender Matt Miazga partners Tom McIntyre in central defence, with young duo Omar Richards and Teddy Howe in the full-back berths.

Charlie Adam offers plenty of nous from midfield, alongside last year's Player of the Season Andy Rinomhota and Garath McCleary, while Danny Loader and Sone Aluko start alongside the returning Yakou Méïté in the forward line.

Our bench has a youthful complexion - in fact, the second-youngest seven-man bench in our club's history. The could potentially yield two new debutants as striker Ben House and goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke are amongst the number. An average age of 19 years and 357 days on the subs bench.

Reading: Walker, Howe, Richards, McIntyre, Miazga (c), Adam, Rinomhota, McCleary, Aluko, Loader, Méïté.
Subs: Boyce-Clarke, Burley, East, Osho, Medford-Smith, House, Dorsett.

Cardiff City: Smithies, Bennett, Flint, Vaulks, Bacuna, Ralls, Glatzel, Murphy, Paterson, Whyte, Bamba (c).
Subs: Etheridge, Morrison, Pack, Nelson, Richards, Hoilett, Sang.
