🔜 Ahead of the game | Curtain closes on campaign against Swans

Your build-up to our last match of the season

21 July 2020

A season that has lasted almost an entire calendar year finally draws to a close this Wednesday, as we host Swansea City.

Our visitors will want to drag the campaign out past the one-year mark by reaching the play-offs. It’s not in their own hands, but they can give themselves a chance with a win against the Royals – and by hoping that their South Wales rivals Cardiff lose to bottom side Hull City.

For us, there’s nothing as solid as that riding on it. But the opportunity to finish the season on a winning note isn’t one that we’ll want to pass up… especially with such a short summer break this year.

So, for one last time, tune in and follow the Royals’ fortunes for this one and let’s hope to end the campaign three points better off on Wednesday night.

As was the case for all of our games since the restart, our final game against Swansea is available for our fans to watch on iFollow.

Pre-match chat

Midfielder Andy Rinomhota: “Hopefully we can finish the season on a high now. Coming back from the break, we didn’t get the start we were hoping for – the results didn’t go our way to let us make that push.

“But we want to finish with a win over Swansea – end it like that and get ready for the new season, which will come in quickly. They have a lot to play for. For us, it’s always the same – we try to give everything we have and try to get three points.”

A polite reminder to all of our supporters that no unauthorised access at all will be permitted to any of our home or away fixtures while games remain behind closed doors, so supporters must not travel to stadia on matchdays. All supporters have the opportunity to watch via iFollow.

We can’t wait to see you all soon – but for now it’s important that when we play, please stay away.
