⏪ Rewind | Osho, McIntyre, their families and Academy journey!

Flashback to February 2019 when we invited in our duo and their mums...

9 July 2020

Two talented defenders, making their way in the game, and their proud mums. We rewind back to February 2019, when we invited Gabriel Osho, Tom McIntyre, and their parents to Madejski Stadium to chat through all things Reading FC!

At the time, each of the duo had recently made their professional debuts for Reading - McIntyre away at Rotherham, and Osho at home against Middlesbrough.

They were the latest in an ever-growing line of players to come through our Academy and to break into the first-team set-up... and last weekend against Luton Town, they started their first senior fixture as teammates.

Less than three months apart in age, and having played in the same Royals squad since the age of eight through the Academy age-groups, it was a particularly nice moment for all involved in our Academy to see the fruit of their labour. And all the more, the 5-0 win against Luton - and then another clean-sheet against Huddersfield Town in a 0-0 draw three days later - makes it all the more pleasing!

The early years, Eamonn Dolan (and other special people), proud moments as parents, and making debuts - those were the topics of discussion in our extended feature, which was produced as part of the #RaisedInTheEFL campaign to highlight the pathway to a professional career here at Reading.
