Well, this has been the strangest season in living memory for most.
Every campaign has its ups and its downs, its memorable moments and its forgettable goalless draws, it’s moments of magic and its slip-ups, its last gasp winners, its pivotal points, its rollercoaster ride of a story. And this, has been no different of course.
Despite our best efforts, a play-off push has not been sustained. But thankfully we are also not looking over our shoulders, refreshing live score updates to make sure we’re not being dragged into a relegation battle.
Never before, however, have we run a Player of the Season vote for supporters in mid-July ahead of the season’s belated climax.
And naturally this season there will be no concourse voting slips, no manual count conducted by our STAR volunteers – this season’s Player of the Season vote will be conducted entirely online via the voting form below.
So who has stood out for you? A goalkeeper that has saved the side so many times, a defender putting his body on the line to preserve a lead, a midfielder who just does not stop running and fighting for his teammates, or a striker who has instinctively found the back of the net to turn draws into victories?
Voting is simple.
Each supporter can only vote once, registering by using their name and Member ID.
All first team players with 10 or more appearances in 2019-20 are listed, but you can of course vote for any first team player by using the ‘Other’ section.
And the vote is open NOW! Register your vote before 7pm on Tuesday 21st July and we will announce this season’s winner 24 hours later, at 7pm on Wednesday 22nd July - ahead of kick-off in our final fixture of the season at home to Swansea City.
So, it’s over to you. Pick the next name to be added to our Player of the Season roll of honour…
